Margado is built up the hillside above Kamares rather than down at sea level, which is exactly the point: the outdoor pool and the rooms both look out over the full sweep of the port bay, 300 metres below. The barbecue area and lounge with satellite TV round out a stay that is closer to a small resort than a simple pension. The village's restaurants, bars, shops and bus stop are all a short walk down the hill.
