The pool at Hotel Niras looks straight out over the Ionian Sea, backed by a poolside bar serving fresh juices and cocktails to sun loungers and umbrellas set around the water. Rooms choose between sea or pool views, decorated in light colours with a private balcony, air conditioning and a marble bathroom in every unit. A buffet breakfast starts the day before the short walk to the beach, 250 metres away, or the kilometre into central Nydri for the harbour and its restaurants. Regular boats to the neighbouring island of Meganisi depart from Nydri Port nearby, making Hotel Niras a workable base for a day trip without a long transfer first.
