Our take
Messinian Bay sits directly on the beach of the Messinian Gulf near Kalamata and was recently renovated with contemporary interiors. Mountains, sea and green landscape surround it, and in summer a beach bar provides sunbeds and umbrellas. Spa and wellness facilities round out the stay. I would choose it for a beach-focused trip with some downtime, not for a stay built around Kalamata's town centre.
